16-29 January 2012, Kingsley Church of Christ is partnering with World Harvest Ministries to build a chapel in the Philippines.
Included in the team are 8 people from Kingsley Church, 2 from Subiaco Church, one from Busselton, and the remaining 9 from Sydney.
The team goal is to finance and construct a chapel under the leadership of John Hutchinson.
This return trip results from a speaking and lecturing visit made by Ross Burton in March 2011, and also the construction of a Manse, funded by Kingsley Church.
The second goal is to encourage the local people to become financially self sufficient and enable pastoral support.
To this end, Ross will introduce and commence a Micro Industry and a Village Savings and Loan Scheme. The Micro Industry has a set of goals and guidelines to enable people to become financially self sufficient and the Village Savings and Loan Scheme will help people learn how to save, successfully borrow and repay, to personal advancement.
The logic that Ross will be encouraging for the Micro Industry and Loans Scheme is - “We’ll give a Hand Out, and a Hand Up!”
